Totally Bamboo Cutting Boards

Bamboo has a higher tensile strength than steel yet is light enough for anyone to easily carry. Not only is bamboo a better material option, but it’s better for the planet too. Despite its tough exterior, bamboo is actually a grass. When harvested the roots remain and quickly regenerate. It’s a truly remarkable and renewable resource.

The success of bamboo in chairs led Totally Bamboo to consider other uses for this amazing material. They used their combined art and design backgrounds to invent the FIRST bamboo cutting board. This cutting board, crafted from “engineered bamboo,” was light and durable, harder than maple yet gentle on knives. With this brilliant innovation, Totally Bamboo was born!

Care for Bamboo Cutting Boards:  Hand wash your natural bamboo cutting board in warm water and soap. Towel or air dry on edge. It’s that simple!

All wood cutting boards benefit from periodic conditioning, so we recommend treating your new board with oil (we can recommend our Revitalizing Mineral Oil or our Coconut Cutting Board Conditioner). Just spread the oil liberally across the surface of your new board, let sit overnight if possible, then wipe away any remaining oil before use. Repeat this process whenever the board looks dry.

Please do not soak your bamboo (or any wood) cutting board. Prolonged submersion in water can open the natural fibers and cause splitting.

Care for Maintenance Free Bamboo:  Hand wash in warm water and soap. Towel or air dry  It’s that simple!  Our bamboo bowls, utensils and other housewares have a maintenance free finish, so they clean up easily and require no oiling or conditioning.
